Product · Zeno
Zeno is NEC4 contract intelligence for infrastructure delivery. It watches every contractual clock across the portfolio, cites the governing clause on every notice, and writes an append-only contemporaneous record that survives adjudication. Under NEC the deadline is the mechanism, and a Compensation Event not notified inside eight weeks is lost outright. Zeno exists so the passage of time is never what defeats a right.

Capabilities
Every clock, live
Clause 16.1 Early Warning and clause 61.3 Compensation Event decision deadlines tracked to the day across every contract. Status is derived from the contract dates at read time, so an overdue notice reads as overdue the instant it is.
Notices that number themselves
Every Early Warning, Compensation Event, and instruction is auto-referenced against its contract and stamped with the governing NEC clause. The register maintains itself; the commercial manager reviews it.
Append-only contemporaneous record
Who acted, when, under which clause. Every action writes to a log that is never edited. Under NEC the contemporaneous record is the evidence, and an editable log is worthless in adjudication.
Portfolio clock board
Every contract, every contractor, every employer in one view, sorted by exposure. The commercial lead opens one board instead of eleven spreadsheets, and the overdue row is where the eye lands first.
Risk register alongside
Quantified severity, probability, cost and programme impact carried against the same contract identifiers as the notices. Response strategies tracked to owner and date, not left in an email.
Health and safety in the same record
Incidents, near misses, and RIDDOR reports with their statutory 10 and 15-day deadlines tracked. LTIFR computed from actual exposure hours, not estimated, so the number that lands with the board is the number the auditor will find.
How it deploys
01 · Capture
4 weeks
Load your active NEC4 contracts and the notice register you are already keeping. Zeno gets grounded in your firm's contract portfolio, not a generic one.
02 · Pilot
6 weeks
One programme, one commercial manager. Run Zeno alongside the spreadsheet. Measure notices captured, clocks caught, and time-to-decision against the manual baseline.
03 · Scale
12 weeks
Every contract, every commercial manager. Sustained visibility across the portfolio with the contemporaneous record adjudicators expect and your PI insurer wants to see.
Architecture
Zeno is a vertical solution that sits on Intelligence Fabric for multi-agent orchestration and retrieval, AI Guardrails for policy and access control, and AI Gateway for model routing and cost control. Signet is the built-environment counterpart. Signet proves a building's design meets the code before it is built. Zeno proves its delivery met the contract while it is being built. Same DNA. Evidenced, dated, defensible to a third party.

Where it ships
Tier 1 civils and infrastructure contractors
Portfolio-wide notice registers with the eight-week Compensation Event bar tracked to the day, and the contemporaneous record ready for any claim.
Rail and highways client organisations
Network Rail CP7 renewals, National Highways RIS3 delivery, HS2 programme contracts. Employer-side visibility across every framework contractor.
Water and utilities framework holders
AMP8 delivery bundles, distribution network reinforcement, treatment upgrades. Framework-level compliance across every awarded contract.
Education and social infrastructure programmes
DfE school building programmes, hospital new-build, custodial estate. Client-side administration of contracts spread across multiple contractors and sites.
Nuclear and defence infrastructure
Long-cycle major-project delivery where a single missed notification is measured in years of subsequent claim exposure. The contemporaneous record is the primary artefact.
An architecture review takes your NEC4 portfolio, the notices you are already tracking by hand, and the deadlines you are worried about, and produces a live clock board and an audit-ready record your commercial lead and general counsel can read together.
